bowd65's Journal, 22 Dec 16

Visit into work yesterday to get my starting back hours for January. Pleasantly surprised to start with two weeks annual leave that I forgot I'd booked. The manager has let me have them. So I am not actually back to work til 16th of January! It Was great to see everyone and all were wishing me well for Christmas and new year!

Following my two week phase return, the manager is letting me use up the rest of my annual leave, so i should technically only work 3 days a week until the end of March. She has also had a letter from Occupational health, who i saw last week about me wanting to reduce my hours. She has taken into account that I am a carer (father-in-law) and as soon as she can, she will let me reduce my hours.

If things do get too much for me, the nurse from Occupational health told me I could appeal as a carer to get my hours reduced. So I will have to see how things go after March. But at least the manager appeared to be more on my side this time, which made me feel much better!

Phew! not long back from Asda with few bits, mainly the fresh veggies for Christmas day. Gosh it was really busy! My intention is not to go in any more shops now til after Christmas.

Swimming tomorrow morning which will be the last one before the big day arrives. Hope all your plans are coming together, we are having traditional Turkey with all the trimmings. But on Boxing day, we are planning an evening out with friends to an Indian restaurant, yummy!!

What a great result all around. Not starting back to work until mid January will give you that extra boost . I think most definitely going part tine is a must do ! About the shopping grrrrrrrrrr. It can be very tiring this time of year. Your Boxing Day meal sounds very niccccccccee! 💯✔💯✔💯

Great news on the hols. That must have seemed like a fantastic Christmas present! I was due to go shopping this morning with Mr Snoop, but he volunteered to do it on his own. I hate shopping. He doesn't much like it, but he knows where everything is and can do it much quicker without me. Hope you have a lovely festive season. One big plus with not going to work: you can have lie-ins every morning!

Yes I think it will give me an extra boost Mrs Maths A lie in SP, I haven't had one of those since I adopted my two lurchers. I am up at 06.00 most mornings and out in all weathers. But do you know what, I love it and it keeps me fit too!

So glad your manager's coming round to accepting you need to be part time. I appreciate it will be hard for her but your health is more important

More to the point, I'm impressed you braved ASDA! I did Tesco at stupid O'clock on Tuesday morning and that was enough - Ocado delivery tomorrow and if it's not there, we'll do without!
