bowd65's Journal, 15 Dec 16

Had a long walk with the dogs this morning and off to swimming just before lunch.

Just thought I would post pictures of my two rescue dogs Mishka is a 4 year old Lurcher Greyhound cross and Buddy Is a Bedlington Pointer cross. Buddy was our foster boy, but I failed at fostering (pleased to say) and we adopted him two weeks ago.

They're lovely. I'd love to have another dog but being out up to 12 hours a day it really wouldn't be fair. I couldn't train a dog to our house with hours like that :(

I know what you mean, I am so glad my work is close for when I go back in January. Luckily I have my father in law living with us and he can let them out in the garden. I will still be up early 05.30 when I am on a early shift to take them out.

Lovely photos. Getting up at 5.30 am shows serious devotion! They must be really happy with you after what they must have been through.

Thanks all, they do seem to like it here SP. We do spoil them I must admit, but I think they deserve it. After all we don't know what they have through you are right.

My parents always take in rescue cats. It amazes me how friendly they become when well treated. Sometimes it takes a while, but their current cat was so badly beaten that a lot of the organs you'd expect to find below his diaphragm are up in his chest cavity. But he's a lovely trusting cat now. How he manages to breathe, let alone purr, is beyond me.

Gosh that is just awful! How people can treat any animal like that is just beyond!! 😠 Thanks to your mum for taking in the cat/s. So good that the cat has some, or even a good quality of life 😺

I have no idea how people can be cruel to animals.

I know Jocko, why get a pet if you are not going to treat it like a member of the family! Thanks Mrs M, they are my fur babies! ☺
