JockoT's Journal, 17 Mar 16

Went through my wardrobe this afternoon and sorted out all the clothes that are too big for me. Shirts, trousers, tee shirt and sweaters (some brand new, with labels still attached). I filled 10 big bags to take to the charity collection point. It was then that Mrs T pointed out two vacuum storage bags, in the bottom of the cupboard, filled with even more of my clothes. This turned out to be a treasure trove, filled with hardly worn shirts I had brought with me from a previous life (and a previous body size). Among the "goodies" was enough stuff, too large for me, to fill another two bags. I now have a sizeable shirt collection (albeit, needing washed and ironed), to keep some clothes on my back. A good afternoon's work. The downside is, Mrs T helped me because she hoped to inherit some more space in the wardrobe. However, with the retrieved items, the wardrobe is as full as it ever was (tons of room in the bottom of the cupboard though).

Some of them. Most were only worn once then too tight the next time I tried them!

Well done, it's sometimes very hard to let go of items we no longer need...only a few weeks back Mr g went through his wardrobe and threw out about 15 shirts, I went thru the bag and was shocked that around 7 had only ever been worn once if that, all M&S I took them out of the bag washed them thinking I would put them on a local selling site, you guessed it there still sitting in the spare room..next time I'm not looking!

Seemingly a 250 lb man only uses an extra 3 calories for each flight of stairs he climbs. Fine as a means of exercise but not for weight control.

Took the suit bags down out of the wardrobe this evening and found a suit that had been worn once, and an expensive 3/4 coat (a present from my wife) that had never been worn at all. Both far to big (a trip to the local charity shop on Monday). I did however find a suit, again hardly worn, that once more fits like a glove!
