Since I went reduced Carbs, started drinking loads of water, and stopped taking Statins, I have felt brilliant. Whether any or all of these factors has made the difference, I don't know, but who cares. I was out cycling again today, I am running up the 48 steps to my flat, and my new Fitbit thinks it was purchased by an athlete! Regarding the Fitbit. It is a great device for getting you to do a little more, drink a little more, climb another flight of stairs. Although I live in a flat, it has an upstairs, and sometimes I trot up and down them just to add another flight to my tally!

If it works, whatever 'it' is, don't knock it.
Happy for you :)

Besides reducing cholesterol, the second biggest selling drug ever also inhibits CoEQ10, which is inimical to cellular health, and the lack of which causes fatigue, muscle aches and myriad other side effects. GP's used to push statins hard on even the slightest hint of lipid elevation. Fortunately they now seem much less urgent in their evangelism.

The fatsecret App does show the amount of cholesterol in the food you eat. As long as you keep it under 300mg you don't need statins
