JockoT's Journal, 26 Jan 16

I have started a new spreadsheet! I log my daily calories, the average for the week, my daily calories burnt, the daily difference and the weekly delta. Will it help? Well it will give me something to do when I feel hungry.

Brillinat JockoT, welcome to the club. How about also looking at the breakdown of macronutrients, and other elements, by day and by meal. That keep the fingers busy for a while longer.... by the time I finish mine I don;t fancy food :D

It will help, Jocko. It's good to be able to plan and adjust over a week. Then if you go wrong on one day, rather than writing it off, you can compensate and still make progress. I use a spreadsheet to keep focussed and motivate myself too. And yes, it is something to look at when you feel tempted to go off plan!

I have decided to include my Carbs/Fat/Protein balance, as shown on the pie chart on my food diary page, as well.

I keep one, too. It helps me. Hope it helps you too!

I find it useful to look at the percentages too. Depending on what you eat these can vary quite a bit from the FS pie chart because of the fibre content. It's easy to add your own meal by meal analysis in a spreadsheet too, once you have entered the formulae. It's useful to see if your meals are balanced in carb/fat/protein as well. Good stuff!
