JockoT's Journal, 16 Jan 16

Had quite a good day, for a Saturday. Starting this week I intend adding a bit of 5:2 into the mix. Not as extreme as I used to do it (600 cals on the 2 days). This time I intend to have my usual breakfast cereal around 9:30 - 10:00, then a Lidl ready meal (I love them and they come in around 500 - 600 cals) at 5. My days are Wednesday and Thursday. We have a dance practise on a Wednesday morning so I won't be too hungry by then, and my weigh in is a Friday morning. I'll try it for a couple of weeks and see how I get on.

Hey jockoT, I think that's a good idea, I think when you lose a lot of weight like yourself, you have to mix it up a bit sometimes as our bodies get used to it. I haven't tried lidls ready meals, I have weight watchers and asdas good and counted range, they range between 280 to 380 well the ones I have do. Will be interesting to see your next weigh in :-) xx

Lidl meals are not for slimming. That is why I like them. I feel I have a had a good meal after one. My favourites are the Thai Green Chicken Curry and their Chilli Con Carné.

Try eating fruit and veg and cut out the cake Jocko... They are saying now that we should eat 10 fruit and veg a day not just 5. I've been drinking V8 vegetable juice and tomato juice to get those extras and it makes you feel less hungry.

I cannot stand fruit and veg. I struggle to eat an apple. Tomato juice makes me throw up, and fruit juice, which I like, is almost all sugar.

I gotta say I am not crazy on fruit myself, but it is all part of a healthy diet but fresh fruit juice is natural sugar which is ok. It's the refined sugars that are bad for us. Fruit and veg help to lower cholesterol & blood pressure. If you have a blender or juicer or even one of these new Nutrabullet juicers. Just think of it as medicine and knock it back in one.

What kind of dancing do you do?

Ballroom and Latin. Mrs T and I took it up to give us something to do together. A common interest. Mind you, it has us at loggerheads more than anything else!

Ha ha, I know! We used to do classes, now go to a group occasionally, where they do a lot of sequence dancing, easier in a way because once you know the routine, there's no leading involved.
