JockoT's Journal, 30 Dec 15

This week is not going well for me, at all. Too many tasty things left over from Christmas. Add to that my other half back on holiday. My breakfast, this morning, consisted of a large dod of iced Christmas cake and a creamy coffee. Ah well, next year is a new beginning.

The secret is to throw out any left overs from Christmas - or give them away - so you have no temptations!

That would make sense, but my wife is skinny and enjoys her Christmas treats. I would be selfish if I insisted she throw out half a Christmas cake just because I am on a diet. I count the calories, even when I go over my RDI. I am much better this Christmas than in previous years. I am being moderately careful what I consume, instead of the usual eating till I am fit to burst.

JockoT I was wondering where you went, I missed you! Leave the cakey to the skinny wife, it has her name on it not yours. And, if you don't eat it she will take longer to finish it. That's a bigger window for you to be cake free. Gives her more pleasure and less incentive to move on to getting in the next cake supply. I think you have done amazingly well actually. Keep it up and don't steal any more of her cake ;)

Jocko you need to find out how important is for wife the fact that you are committed to lose weight. She might not put regrets in avoiding storage of food that can be tentative for you.

Hey jockoT, I totally understand where your coming from, if it were me, I would enjoy myself new years eve/day then draw a line under it and start afresh, it's not like youve put a stone back on, once you are back on track it will come off very quickly I think. One thing tho, you need to come up with a plan as at some point your wife will retire and you need to work out how you will deal with that on a full time basis rather than just her holiday time, maybe she won't be as bad if she is off forever as it wont seem like a treat to indulge for a whole week off.

You are right Jo, and I do have a plan. I am going to keep her working forever. Mind you, the way she spends money she will need to.
