CatHerder's Journal, 01 Aug 15

My doctor's office called yesterday with the results of my A1c. It was 5.1 so basically he is considering my non-diabetic. All of my A1c readings for this year have been in the normal range. It's such a relief to have that chapter of my life in the past as I know all the complications that come from having diabetes but have managed to avoid them.

To all of the FS warriors out there with type 2 diabetes I would highly recommend checking out a low carb diet plan. I'm not saying it's right for everyone but when I started my weight loss journey it dropped my blood glucose by over 80 points in the first 2 weeks. It also helped me stabilize my blood glucose and slowly lower it over time.

Just to be completely honest, I'm no longer on a low carb diet because it was interfering with my exercise. I didn't have the stamina for a full hour of intense exercise. I feel that is one of the drawbacks of the diet. Everybody needs to find their own WOE that works for them for their lifetime.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Fantastic results with your blood sugar. I also had similar results, IMO a combination of changes in diet and regular exercise. It's so nice to have found a way of living that is sustainable and healthy, sure beats the alternative. Enjoy the weekend!
