Tatmummy's Journal, 18 Jan 15

Argh weekends are my worst time. We are having a roast dinner today so I'm expecting to go over my calorie limit. We'll see. At least I'm still on the dry January wagon so no calories from wine.

Im wondering if a yoghurt and fruit would be better for breakfast, the only trouble with that is that in the past I've then been so hungry mid morning that I've snacked. Hmmm
Too late for today anyway, I had toast ;)

I had a 'Masala Omlette' this morning, another for my dull breakfast repertoire. It was very nice, too; a River Cottage recipe from 'Light and Easy'. Don't beat yourself up if you do inadvertently overindulge, I think everyone has to have one day off.

Bacon and eggs for me, low carb and satisfying.

Low Calorie Breakfast that keeps you full? Porridge/Oats - Chuck some fruit on top. If you really want to go low calories, make it with Unsweetened Soya Milk (13 calories per 100ml)

I am never giving up bread, I'd honestly rather be overweight than never eat toast or pizza again...and if you mention cauliflower crust I will hunt you down and force feed you ;)

It's hard not to eat comfort food when the weather is bad .. I think as long as you can eat healthy most of the time the roast dinner Sundays won't make a big difference. Nothing nicer than sitting with family having a lovely roast. It's all about balance and if you stop doing those things you are more likely to think 'forget this it doesn't fit in with my life'.

Oh you cant give up any of the food you love! When I say I dont eat Bread, I don't take cheat days into account. Also it is great for bulking.

Def you are right to look at what you eat and if you can cut certain foods down great. We are obv all doing something wrong to be here lol. I'm trying to get out of the 'all or nothing' way of eating as I've sabotaged so many great starts by thinking oh no I've eaten a forbidden food may as well eat this now, that now etc. if I had allowed myself that item and stopped we are talking 300 cals max which over a week is nothing .. However I turned it into 3000 through then feeling bad and binge eating x

Try to add cinnamon and and apple while you cook your porridge. The result is amazing. No need for extra sugar. :)
