Power just went out... A little less cozy now! 😁 And... I wonder when I'll get the chill finished. First big storm of the season means power could be out for a while... So many branches and trees come down and so many power lines to fix. Oh well... I'm thankful it isn't freezing out! 😁

melissatwa- wrap 4-5 towels around the pot you have the chili in. Top/bottom/sides. That will hold the heat in and it will keep cooking.

That is a good idea, Anne, but I'm afraid it won't be enough this time. I was still cooking the beans! 😁 I just checked and over 85,000 homes are without power in our general area so far. It might be a while before we get it back. 😁

When we lose power we cook on our gas grill. It has a side burner but you could also put it on the grate on low. Hope the outage doesn't last long!

Thank you, everyone! ❤️ Wind died down, power came on, chili is finished and approved of by family and visiting college kid who happened to stop in. 😁 I do love our Mr Cat! He is very particular about whom he trusts and shys away from most even touching him, but he is a total love to my oldest son and me! 😁 ❤️ I adore the furry brat! ❤️❤️❤️
