Draglist's Journal, 02 Oct 21

Woke at 223.9, down 2.4 from yesterday, after losing some water overnight. I took a nap after dinner last night, and I slept another solid 7 hours when I went back to bed. I have been taking Ashwagandha to help with sleep starting this month, and it has had a measurable positive effect on my sleep quality (as measured by my Fitbit). I am announcing a drag race tonight and will be out all day starting at 2 pm. Not sure what that will mean for lunch and dinner. UPDATE: Long day at the track. I had a huge sub sandwich for lunch, but that was it for the day. I came home after midnight. Weighed 224.5.

Have fun at the race! Thanks for the Ashwhaghanda tip. I buy supplements, then forget why I bought them. Addle-brained! Maybe that's why I bought it in the first place! I own too many and don't remember why! LOL.

Hi, Erika! Thanks. It's supposed to help reduce cortisol, calm you, and improve sleep. It also apparently has some effect on testosterone improvement, probably from the cortisol reduction.

I slept far few hours last night, so I'm going to go find it and put it by my chair. BTW announcing a drag race sounds like a pretty fun work event. Specialized!

Thanks, Erika! Good luck with it. I used to announce regularly from the 80s to the early 2000s. I then did just a few specialty events a year. They pulled me out of retirement for this one as it's a tribute to my friend Bunny Burkett, who we lost last year. She was the 1986 World Champ and an absolute legend!

Cheers to a female champ in a male profession! To Bunny!!

Yes! She and Shirley Muldowney were trailblazers, although women world champions have followed (Erica Enders, Angelle Sampay). I'm proud to know these women and to interview them from time to time on my podcast (Draglist LIVE). It's been a fun lifetime hobby for sure.

I just bought some tea for sleep from a wonderful herb shop in town. Haven't tried it, but I hope it helps as much as your aid does. Have fun announcing. 👍😊

We used to go to drag races in the late 50s, it was so much fun! I'm sure it's changed quite a bit from those days. '57 Chevy bel air was THE car, black & white with red interior.

Hi, Kattay! Getting home just now at 12:40 am on Sunday. It was a great event with a lot of fast cars and tributes to my friend Bunny. I got over 10,000 steps and four miles walking around the place (and I feel it)!
