"If you aren't working towards success, you're working on failing." and, "If you aren't willing to put in the work maybe you don't want it as badly as you think you do." My voice professor in college used to say those two things so often that they became a permanent and ingrained part of my thought process and psyche.
Back then, what I wanted was to sing the Queen of the Night aria for my finals. These days, I want to run a marathon, surf, and to feel good in my skin again.
I've made a lot of stupid excuses for the last month as far as staying on plan and tracking my calories. It's like, now that I'm 15lbs away from my overall goal, I have this idea that I can take a step back and not be as strict with myself.
That isn't even close to true.
And the truth is, "taking those steps back" is what got me unhealthy to begin with.
So onward and forward.
I hope all you losers are doing well.
(Losers as in weight loss. Not a moral or value judgment.)
