As we here all know, Obesity is not a life choice or caused by lack of willpower. Now a report by a group of eminent psychologists confirms that.

Just read the article. Yes, stress is a huge factor and does affect hugely what happens to the food we eat. That said, it is too easy to blame 'genetic factors' for obesity. Our genes have not changed, what we put in our mouths has. Processed food is a killer, and a physically addictive one at that. Not the fault of the addict and a truly hard addiction to break, for most people. We should all be eating FOOD, not food like products. ... ... then at least we would stand a chance. We hear the cry to "Eat Real food". How could even the concept of Real Food arise. ... ? So sad.

@Penlan: I do think there is middle ground. while I acknowledge that processed food, particularly sugar contained, is addictive and bad, there is an element of genetics. I personally know 6 people, friends of mine, that are the sort of person I can only envy. I have spent holidays with them, seeing them eat the same food, same quantity. yet, I gained weight, they didn't. Downside for them: working out with 3 of them (weight lifting) I have seen first hand that their bodies are also resilient to building significant muscles, much as they are resilient to building up significant body fat. Hence, there must be some difference in the underlying "hard ware" 🤷‍♀️
