just wondering if u all weight yourself everyday to keep on top of things, or once a week. I've put on over last 2 days but I really dont know why as I've been staying to 1500 calories or less. feeling a bit disappointed after my first weeks success. Although I am pleased overall with my weight so far .

Hi, it’s better to weigh each week at around the same time. Our weight fluctuates over 7 days, so it gives you a better idea of your weight loss doing it weekly. Also go by measurements, because sometimes you may loose inches rather than lb’s 😊

I weigh myself once a week, I found doing it everyday used to keep me so focused on the scales where as doing it each week I had time to work on what I was eating etc especially being a woman at times your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis and can make dieting a living nightmare, but after saying all that you have to do what works for you x

Think I will start doing it weekly, I know what u mean about weight fluctuations especially as a woman. Fingers crossed it will work better for me. Thank u

I stuck to once per week to record on the same day and time each week. It worked for me with a slow loss of 1 to 2 pounds per week. I sometimes weigh myself other days but never record purely because I would fluctuate a lot. I did it Monday mornings and it made me more determined not to go overboard at the weekend. Hope this helps you. Good luck with the loss.

I only weigh once a week, because if I did it everyday i'd drive myself mad. I fluctuate a LOT. Like I could be one weight in the morning and by the evening 2lbs heavier/lighter. I also have a smart scales which connects to my phone and shows me fat percentage and things like BMI, protein, water etc... this can make all the difference for peace of mind for me, I keep an eye on these numbers so they are going in the right direction. I tend to weigh every thursday morning at around 7am. I don't over-think the scales as the body does strange things to adjust, I just think keep in a calorie defecit and the results will show eventually.

I weigh every day more or less and my weight can fluctuate wildly from day to day. I can put on or lose 1kg in a day. I dont know why. Exercise also affects my weight. if I go on a fishing trip I put in 0.5kg next day. I know from experience which day of the week I am likely to weigh the least and that I weigh the least just before breakfast and that is when I record my weight on here every week.

The weight can change due to the water retention, eating too much salt or dairy products

Hi, I get weighed everyday, I don’t log it everyday though. I just think that way I’m never going to be in for a massive shock lol, I mean how much weight can you put on in 24hrs? 😂😂😂

I weigh every day but app gives an average for week. Makes it easier to see trends. tonight i have had Chinese takeaway so will put on 1/2 kilo easy with water retention.

You can retain or lose up to 3lb of water in a day depending on carbs and salt. So only log weekly for a more accurate picture.

I weigh myself weekly just out of interest because for three years I haven't been able to shift even a pound. I'm currently taking a tablet designed for gym/workout people and haven't noticed any change in nearly three weeks, so am having a weigh in just to see if what I'm thinking is true

I weigh most days but to be fair it's best to measure yourself and take pics, nothing messes stuff up like a set of scales

Every day. I don’t worry about the occasional day where it creeps up, it may be I had a glass of water, but to be fair I also ignore the odd blip of low weight as conversely I might be a little dehydrated. But dig deep keep on going and remember to congratulate yourself every success you have as they are just too hard to get.

1500 calories Is too much

I've been losing 1 to 2 lbs a week on 1500 calories a day. I find it means I can stick to a realistic diet as a way of life rather than yoyo-ing. It also means I can incorporate the right RDA of protein, fat, fibre and carbs so getting a good vitamin and mineral range. It works for me.

I weigh daily and use an app for the iPhone called “Happy Scale” which shows a graph of an average of the past few days’ weight, so it smooths out whether you’ve had a weight spike one day or not. It’s a nice thing!
