Valentine's Day was rather uneventful and that is okay. I don't like playing much into 'the day' and we don't need a day to recognize one another. Also, there are far better things I can think of to spend money on rather than the roses that my husband would thoughtfully bring me. This year he actually 'got that'. He took the time to bring me a card and left one on my laptop to be found...very sweet. So much sweeter than roses. We were both exhausted. Neither of us slept very well and after he got home we both settled in on a sofa and took naps...LOL. That was great for me because I do not take naps.

I made cheese sticks (made from cheese) hahaha. Also, made a pizza casserole. It was good but a LOT of cheese. What did I discover? I was a bit stuffy last night after all of that cheese which supports my thoughts that I need to monitor and go easy on the dairies. This morning the scale "ouch" is all I will say about that. I will not cater to it but use it as the 'tool' it is (pun intended). It reiterates that I need to be careful with cheeses. So bloat; it will go away. I went and pulled out a button up shirt that i have not worn in years. Pulled it up and it buttoned up perfectly fine even over my boobs...no gap!! So, the scale is a tool and my clothes are the real judge. Not to mention I my new bra that I was using extenders on because I knew I wouldn't need them long....I don't need them...that has happened in a couple weeks.

The other NSV was the pizza. I made half for the husband and half for me equaling two healthy squares. I ate one and he had one. It was good, but I was full and didn't go back. Also, with the realization of how the cheese effects me I know I need to lay off for a few days so I will not have the leftovers on this one, but rather will pitch them. That is very hard for me. Usually, I am wrapping and putting in the fridge or freezer, but this time it is better for me to pitch it. I had been craving pizza all week and I satisfied that craving and I am done with it now. That is a major victory for me!

So as I buttoned up my shirt this morning the thought that popped into my head, of its on volition, was "despite the scale bump up the shirt tells the story and at 6+ weeks now I am embracing this lifestyle and the positive changes will continue to happen". Then I said back to myself...because I was impressed...you are right...wow this is my lifestyle and I love it.

Have a great day and weekend!!

I LOVE cheese! It is one of my guilty pleasures. I don't think I can do life w/o it. LOL. So I switched to non-fat dairy instead. It will not be as gooey but it will taste just the same.

Well done on the NSV!!!!!! The dairy thing .... I just switched over to Nutpods rather than have heavy cream in my coffee. It is more along the consistency of Half and Half and takes the bitterness edge off the coffee which makes me happy. Guess this is my newest "win". One dairy gone ... along with the saturated fat, too.

Haven't tried nutpods (or heard of them). I do butter and coconut oil in my coffee so good there. I am using more unsweetened coconut milk for HWC or coconut cream. However, I am not willing to spend good money on imitation cheese and chance it tasting crappy. So I will just pick and choose my dairy days. Going no dairy today since yesterday was such a heavy dairy day. :)
