I was on a roll last Friday morning rocking 211.8 and then I lost focus Monday. Although it is only Tuesday, I am past my mid week. I look at my trends week to week starting with Friday ending the next Thursday.

Fridays seem like are a weird day to use as a beginning of the week however my pool night, my night of excess, usually is on Thursday evenings and I figure if use my Friday morning's weigh in as a gauge and compare it to the prior week, it could present a picture of what I am doing throughout the week and what I need to change if I am not getting desired results.

What is to blame for this sudden loss of focus? Eggnog (Saturday, Sunday, Monday)! Get this sh!t out of my fridge.

Tomorrow, I took a day off for some family stuff that takes place early evening and I will visit the gym tomorrow morning for a few hours for an overdue workout.

The journey continues.

Thursday and Friday are my official weigh in too, normally on Mondays I am up 5+ pounds , just keep pushing, we still have 2+ months to reach our goal this year.

Eggnog? Definitely get it GONE! (That is how I felt about Mother's birthday cake!) LOL! Threw me off for a whole week. Starting over.

Not sure if it helps, but I weigh myself twice per week--mid week and at the start of the weekend. That has worked for me and allowed me to correct/adjust if I need to before things go too far in the wrong direction.

Also, for the most part, I weigh and measure my food, at least when at home. When out, I use a couple of handy tricks I picked up along the way to keep my portions in check. I am happy to share those if anyone wants to know. But portion control and tracking what I eat, along with weighing myself regularly, are key for maintaining my weight loss. If I inch up, it is usually because I am being lazy with portion control and tracking.

Ches, at least you recognize what's throwing you off. We have always had access to thee best egg nog, when we lived in L.A. Last Thanksgiving it was brought to N.M. by one of our kids. I broke down the calories and macros and had 3 ounces. Those 3 ounces was enough for 2 days worth of carbs, if I remember correctly. So, I hung on something I had read, "You already know how it tastes. No need to keep eating/drinking it." 😊

I just got off of two weeks on 'nonsense' that had me up and down and by Sunday I'm up 4 lbs. Today, all that is forgotten. Onward!
