I'm now 75 and on and off different diets (low carb, vegan, vegetarian). I've recently been on vegetarian, but today started a 3 day egg fast and am starting Keto diet on Jun 1, 2024. Looking forward to the change of diet and hope to do well on it as I have in the past.

lost more but had hip replacement surgery and they put 5 lbs of metal in my right hip! I weighed 187 when I went in for surgery and 192 after! Didn't have much appetite after surgery for a few days, but it's pretty much back now! I'll have to go thru it again when I have to do my left hip!

HOT WATER CORNBREAD
2 cups corn meal
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
12/3 cup boiling water
I put some gloves on because it is hot. Mix form into balls. Next time I will flatten them they where a bit tacky I’m the middle. Put on pan lined with parchment paper bake turning once at 375. Just watch them I’d say about 10-15 minutes per side

I've been on Atkins/Keto type diet and McDougall/Furhman type diet and I lost some weight on all diets but the easiest diet to stay on indefinitely for me is Dr Mcdougall's! And I've found that as a diabetic I can have potatoes if I don't put any oil (sour cream or butter) on them and don't eat meat and starches at the same time. Eating meat and non starches or starches without oil or meat only other veggies! Someone wrote a diet book on that principal and it was called Fit for Life! But on his second book Dr Diamond suggests to go more starch and less meat. It has been proven that meat and dairy are carcinagens and may cause cancer. I wondered where all the cancer was coming from! I've heard all my life to eat more fruits and vegetables and to eat your greens to get healthy but I was young and didn't pay attention. I got out luckier than some (no cancer found yet) but have high blood pressure, diabetes and inflammatory arthritis which is causing me to need hip replacement surgery on both hips. Another reason to be on McDougall type diet which is anti inflammatory. I urge everyone to look at videos on YouTube of Drs McDougall, Esselstein, Klapper and many more Drs that want our country to be more healthy and agree to a month or longer to see how you feel at any age with this eating plan!
