01 June 2023

I've had diarrhoea since Monday (it's Thursday here). not just any diarrhoea. What they call 'sh!tting through the eye of a needle at 1000 paces' diarrhoea.

Stomach cramps, blocked ears, going to work, not sure what I'm doing all day. Had payroll on Mon & Tues, now I've got financial reporting and preparation of invoicing for one of our programmes.

I'm eating everything. Yesterday I had 2 huge glasses of orange juice, went home early, was in bed by 3 - got up this morning, went to work. Sitting there in prayers, need to go to the loo (don't dare). blocked ear. Headache. Everyone else is praying for a good day and I'm praying for a long needle to be inserted into the back of my head to pop the pain at the back of my skull.

The beloved has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. He showed me a picture after their cystoscopy - he has a little tree growing in there. It's adorable. They're taking it out on about 8 July, I told him he has to get them to put it in formaldehyde and give it to my daughter, she can make a little diorama. Make little people and add a little swing or something. She's really good with tiny modelling... Would be hilarious.

We used to do water gardens at lamb and calf day, which is an annual event here in the country where kiddies bring their calves and see if the calf will obey (heh) or lambs. or cats or whatever. A kind of gala you might call it? And there would be competitions for best vegetable animal (chopped up veges, toothpicks, you made a creature), flower bouquets, and underwater 'gardens.' We would have bluetak or something on the lid of a jar, make an arrangement, and then put it into the jar which was filled with water, sometimes coloured, and that would be our water garden. So anyway I think the darling daughter could knock something up for Steve with his little cauliflower and formaldehyde... ideas?

But meanwhile I'm having an incredibly low mood day and I want to go back to bed. after eating everything I can find, in the hope it will sort my guts out.

30 May 2023

I've just done a little spreadsheet, as I do.

on 10 April I was 91.1
On 30 May (today in New Zealand) I am 86.6

So I have lost 4.5kg over 50 days, which comes out at .63kg per week,

which is 1.39lb. :D

So like Tristram Shandy I digress and progress at the same time. For an archaic meaning of progress...

Or in modern english I sure do shag about with my ups and downs, and the software on this site does nothing to help only ever pro rata-ing the latest weight loss to 1 week and not taking into consideration any historic entries... but nevertheless I seem to be obeying a downward trend, with much faffing about deviating from the mean.

but it's been a good idea for me, logging daily weight entries even when they freak me out. it shows me a cycle, and shows that it does all eventually come out in the wash.

So I am feeling happy.
