Ok, there are many things I miss having while on keto... pizza, spaghetti, garlic bread etc... you all know... but one that is tough to substitute for is .. can only eat so many berries with whipped cream... and to a degree it isn't sweet enough..
I travel through Asia a lot...and last trip while in the Philippines a friend made an interesting desert... a kind of quonset hut Klondike bar.. I watched closely.. and decided to run the numbers and try it here.. felt like something sweet.. but I morphed it to have less carbs.. and is a sort of keto fat bomb..
Ingredients are simple for the Philippine fat bomb:8 servings

1 cup heavy cream
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
6 graham crackers
fruit of your choice ( in the Philippines they use mango)
I used tuscan cantelope and blackberries

That's it... now in order to make this more keto friendly I used 1/3 cup condensed milk and 2/3rd zero carb Almond Breeze..
Mix the liquids together and blend
pour a small amount in the bottom of a tupperware type bowl..
place 2 graham crackers on top
then fruit on top of the grahams and pour more liquid over them
layer the bowl as you would a lasagna..
cover and freeze...

When I get a bad craving for something truly sweet... I grab an 8th.. the size of the picture on the plate...
mostly fat from heavy cream, about 14 grams of carbs.. a Kit Kat bar is about 28 grams of carbs..

When I first started this... I wasn't sure it could be done..Particularly at my age.
There were false starts...slips and off the rails ..along the way.. and since I live alone in a remote area.. little feedback.. and many reasons I gave myself to just say the hell with it and give up...Often questioned weather it is worth it... as everyone does..
Today I was cleaning out some old picture files and came across a picture from 1992. I was 37 then... 63 now....

So, just thought I would post it to encourage others...especially those that feel like giving up... Yea, I did that too..
What one person can do..so can another... and if I can do this ..You can too...
The first step is to believe you can.. then just focus..

First picture is 1992 - 37 years old (Stanley Park -Canada)
Second picture - a few weeks ago at home - 63 years old

Exact same weight again after 26 years..
