mickfan1's Journal, 27 Mar 18

Good morning everyone and Happy Tuesday! So after yesterdays meltdown, I came home from work and ate a whole bag, yes every last kernel, of Blast O Butter popcorn! I don't know if it did any good but this morning I feel a lot better. Popcorn used to be a go to for me when I was feeling down so I thought "what the Hell, it can't get any worse"! I think I was just feeling like I couldn't eat anything I liked so I just started eating everything I really liked. Hopefully it's out of my system and I can get back on track.

I want to thank all of you who reached out and gave me a pep talk or a well deserved kick in the pants. I needed both! Your support means so much and I never realized how much I actually needed it.

Stay strong everyone and if you're looking for help, you've come to the right place.

Thank you all!

I think we've all done things like that, from time to time. Sometimes I get a real craving for chocolate and in the end it's easier just giving in and eating some, than eating everything else in sight to try to stop the craving! Have a great day 🙂

We all do it! Its a difficult road to travel and we all need a rest at some point. Youve got this!! Stand up, take a deep breath, and keep truckin!!

I do that a whole lot!! Kick myself after, but at the time it just feels good, but doesn't always taste as good as it should.

I have been through that same experience - sometimes it just hits...I need carbs...I am working on what and how much. We all do better, when we all do better!

Been there/done that! Just be gentle with yourself and be big on self-forgiveness. I'm not sure if this will help but I bought a silicone microwave popcorn popper on Amazon for under $15 (Salbree) to help satisfy my popcorn jones. (Popcorn was always one of my go-to snacks that I thought was healthier than other carb products.) It can be used with or without oil. I just get a jar of Jolly Time Select popcorn at Walmart (you can use any kind you prefer) and indulge myself on days when I can afford to add in some carbs. Basically, I remind myself that I didn't gain 100 pounds FROM EATING POPCORN. LOL. (Although crappy carb binge eating is my weakness and I try to avoid carbs whenever possible to avoid falling back into that trap. While I could easily eat a box of Cheeze-It Grooves in one sitting, I never have the urge to sit down and eat a stick of butter! So the way I see it, this is one of the healthier indulgences because it's a whole grain, non-gluten, fiber-rich food, that doesn't trigger my old eating habits. At least not so far.)

I'm a popcorn fiend so I went to the thrift store and got an old school air popper. I drizzle olive oil and salt or garlic salt on it and I love it! Way less calories and saturated fat than the microwave version.
