Well it was a crazy weekend: a wedding on Saturday and a funeral on Sunday. Kind of like a movie, huh. And I didn't even try to stay on track, so obviously my weight is up two lbs. The funeral was a friend who basically drank himself to death. Overindulgence is fatal in lots of ways, which is why my hubby did the gastric sleeve earlier this year. And I have been guilty of overeating myself, like yesterday. Also, my younger brother is going into a nursing home, because he can no longer take care of himself. He HATES it there, and I can't blame him. The loss of independence would totally suck, but he can no longer walk, and he's had a heart attack AND pneumonia at the same time. He had a stroke many years ago that left him paralyzed on the left side. For years he could walk with a cane, but he just quit moving around, and the muscles got weaker, and his spine is now curved. I'm afraid he's past the point of no return, it breaks my heart but I'm afraid if he goes back to his apartment he'll die. We exercise to keep our bodies strong - we walk to be able to keep walking. We have to take care of ourselves, and we all know what we need to do: eat better, eat LESS, and exercise MORE! My co-worker's mother is 90, and still lives on her own, which means I should still have 30 plus years, as long as I take care of myself. Sorry if this sounds preachy, but that's where my head is today.
