I've had a crazy busy summer and I'm pleased to say I've stayed on track with my keto healthstyle. There are certainly more things I could change - like only eating when hungry, stopping when full, and adding regular exercise back into my routine, but overall I am happy with my healthstyle. That said, I have been in a month-long stall. Keto is known for that so I'm not really worried. I can tell in the way my clothes fit and the comments I get from others that my measurements are changing so that's a good thing. I stay motivated by researching the low carb healthy high fat diet online and I belong to a couple of ketogenic Facebook groups for support.

The past 9 days I have had Family Camp at our house. We had anywhere from 14-25 people staying with us depending on the day. One day we went tubing down a river, another day we took a long bike ride, and another day we went to Lake Michigan for a picnic and a day at the beach. I provided the main meal for each day and the other families provided breakfast, lunch (or we had leftovers), and snacks. I was able to eat within my healthstyle by avoiding the carbs (taco salad instead of tacos for example) and making some keto friendly meals. I made almond flour pancakes served with Walden Farms sugar free/calorie free pancake syrup which was a hit with the whole family and of course bacon goes over well at camp! I also bought an ice cream maker on Amazon Prime Day and we had lots of fun trying out new keto ice cream recipes. (I'm sure I over ate ice cream, but at least it was keto).

In June we had three weeks of Grand Camps where we take our grandkids on trips. I was able to pack foods so I could stay on my keto healthstyle even on the road. I have another road trip planned for the third week in August so I will need to do that again. Next week I am attending a 4-day music festival where we are not allowed to bring in a cooler. We are staying at a hotel 2 blocks from the festival grounds. I'll be at the festival grounds from 1pm - 11pm everyday. I'm brainstorming how I will work that out, but I'm sure there will be some keto-friendly options and I may just stick jerky and nuts in my purse. One nice thing is I don't eat as often, so I may just intermittent fast while at the festival and eat my main meal each day before we go to the festival grounds. One thing is for sure, by the end of this summer I will be a pro at eating a keto healthstyle under challenging situations!
