Broke my fast with Steak Burrito and pineapple soda from Herrera's Mexican grill. I probably ate over 100 grams of carbs in 1 meal with caloric intake around 1000 calories.

With this meal now digesting in my belly, I will start a little experiment.

I will either do a 24hr fast and break it with a nice 800 calorie low carb lunch tomorrow ( < 20 grams) or I will wait until Thursday which would put me at the 55 hr mark and end this fast with a low carb dinner and a little 750 ml splash of red wine.

I have broken a few fasts this way and I would strongly urge that you -- Don't try this at home!!! --

No work on Friday for me, just a nice recovery and reflection day.

I admire your will power!! I could never do the fasting - It was hard enough when I practiced Islam and had to do it during daylight hours for Ramadan! LOL Being diabetic though it's too risky to do the fast unless I add something like Orange Juice twice a day or something.

Good for you for doing what you can to correct the mistake that everyone makes, sooner or later (sooner for me, unfortunately)!

you broke fast with 750 ml wine in the past? how was it? im water fasting at the moment, ive reached 36 hours, and still find it hard and was thinking about breaking it at 48 (or 72) with some red wine just for kicks

@roeekats ... Don't try this at home! You are a lot lighter than me. Just as individual who has insulin resistance and struggles with weight issues can use IF and extended fasts over time to reverse insulin resistance, I have a bit of alcohol resistance built up over the years and need to reverse this over time so I can have 1 or 2 glasses and be good. Last week after a 4 day fast, I had a bottle of red wine (it was an AMAZING Shiraz / Melbec blend) and 1 glass of Jameson over rocks in 4 hrs during dinner and billiards. After the 1st 2 glasses of wine within the 1st hour, I was 3 sheets to the wind. The remaining 2 glasses of wine and the Jameson was consumed over the next 3 hours. Oh what a night. My meal was Kale salad, mozzarella and prosciutto rolls, 2 crab stuffed mushrooms. Oh what a night.

sound like an amazing nigt indeed. I think that I'll keep my fast till I'll feel bad physical symptomes. At the moment the most is that my mind is obssesing about food...
