DairyKing's Journal, 14 Feb 12

Slept in and did not run this morning. Felt like my body was saying, "Come on for gosh sakes, give me another day of rest here!" So, I plan on putting about 4 1/4 miles in tomorrow morning. My calves were still really tight last night, from all the hills, but I feel pretty good today. I may cycle on and off with the long runs, i.e., run 7 this Sunday, run 8 the next, 7 the next and then 9 the next; see how that goes. Just going up a mile on the long run each week just may be pushing a little too hard; and the benefit doesn't outweigh the cost. And yes, Rpalmst, when I go for a distance I haven't run yet, I will eliminate the inclines. :)
Wifey gets back home tomorrow evening. Will get back into my normal routine of home cooked balanced meals. In the meantime, anything I eat doesn't count, because I'm a poor defenseless bachelor right now. :) Actually, I've been holding my own pretty well. If anything, I tend to eat less at night because I just feel like the effort to fix something isn't worth the benefit. So, with that said, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

YAAAY for no inclines!!! Glad you're getting some rest today - your post reminded me of when I was young and my mom was gone for any length of time - my dad would always buy braunschweiger and that's what we would have to eat on sandwiches... We would feed it to the dog!! We were always SO happy when mom got home!! :) Happy VDay to you as well!!

Go get those miles buddy. Still smiling about the Braunschweiger reference..my Dad tried that on us once too and he still hasn't heard the end of it. He also tried Oyster Stew ....once.

Just add onions and mustard; not too bad. Probably ties the fried bologna sandwiches my dad made. :) Sk1nny, do I detect a note of sarcasm in your comment? :D

Glad you are listening to your body. It will push harder for you once it's gets the rest it needs. Now if wifey will have sympathy for you and put some yummy meals in your system you'll be all set. Lol. Cute pic. Happy Valentines Day.
