debrafrederick's Journal, 09 Mar 16

After a kick-a** start to my day with a good weigh-in, I pondered the idea of a post I made on a Buddy's journal. I recommended weighing EVERYTHING that goes into your body in a days time just to get an idea of how much your daily intake weighs in total so you can have a better understanding of why your weight fluctuates so much when you step on the scale daily. I have heard it mentioned before, but I have never actually done it..so I did it today. I put my water bottle on my digital food scale and tared it to 0 then I filled it up. Recorded the 26.6 ounces on a spread sheet and kept making my entries for everything that went inside my body today. What an eye opener. My total intake is 220 ounces, that translates to roughly 13.75 pounds! Depending on how frequently you eliminate wastes you could have many pounds on you at any given time that are completely temporary. I really did not realize that the amount would be so large so those of you who keep stepping on the scale every morning keep this in mind and don't let it discourage you, the scale does not define your success or failure, it is just a recording tool that used too frequently can derail your motivation and send you to the refrigerator. Think about it...
