feeling a bit more positive today. it is great to see the scale go down. for the last year I was maintaining 96- not great but I was happy as I had lost 10kgs and was eating well. Then all of a sudden I start gaining- put on 5kgs in 6 weeks despite exercise and my diet being very disciplined. Was at the Dr yesterday and she is doing some bloodwork- it looks like my Hashimotos is flaring up again which explains the weight gain and lethargy. Either way, it feela great to be on a new flexible eating plan and doing lots of weight tranining rather than cardio in this heat :)

What on earth does Hashimotos refer to? Glad to hear you're feeling more positive, so am I! :)

Hashimoto's is an auto-immune disease that I have. my body has over years destroyed most of my thyroid- it is now mostly scar tissue, as for some reason my immune system viewed it as foreign tissue, like a germ or bacteria. So i take medication every day to replace the hormones my thyroid can't make anymore. When I am having a flare up of it I gain weight - my last bout after I had my son I gained 1kg a month for 16months in a row!
