Wow highest weight in a while. Night before last got 3 hours sleep (up at 3 am) left at 10 to pick up a friend and drove nearly 4 hours for a life insurance meeting. Pondering very slightly a career change in my retirement (30 years in finance prior to retiring last year). May stay retired, may give it a shot. My friend and colleague is pivoting after decades in finance as well *stressful occupation***. I will see how it works out for her. Got home at 12:30 am so 14 hours of basically sitting and Caesar salad no dressing and roasted beets protein muffin and protein bar only food and way too much coffee. So guessing weight uptick is sodium and lack of sleep and 14 hours of sitting (7 hours of it driving). Walked this am. Being careful.

That will do it!! , 30+,years of finance, yes I know that must have been stressful!!, I did 31+ years of construction licensing, board meetings, exam apps, front counter, phones, emails, Processing licenses, balancing checks, cash ,annual renewals ect, last 7 years they added balancing out credit card reports with oracle and cybersource, ...lol when I left they hired 3 people to replace me and they could not keep up🤣🤣

Lack of sleep often does it for me. I've been known to drop 2-3 pounds overnight just by getting a good night's rest

Forty-seven years of finance & management (23 of those years running my own business). Loved it all for forty-six years, then burn out that last one. Tried working part time that first year of retirement, but just couldn't get motivated. Love having no obligations most days.

Maine coon when you went back to work recently did you find yourself looking forward to it or missing having your days to yourself to plan as you pleased? This is one of the things im thinking about. The new line of work im thinking about would be work from home and i am very much a people person. I love everything about wearing beautiful clothes and jewelry and makeup and interacting with the public (for the most part) but just hate the stress and the hours and the alarm clock. Does that make sense? I definitely dont have to go back to work but would appreciate a paycheck.

Writingwyo-im going to see where i am five more days from now and reassess. Ive always had such a hard time sleeping since a child. Recently started ashweganda at someone’s suggestion (ladyindenim or erikahollister i think) and that has been super helpful about 80 percent of the time which is 80 percent more than ive ever had before except for once when on ambien but I did some things i had no memory of so i stopped. About 20 years ago. Still have nights where i get 2-3 hours of sleep but overall definitely feeling more rested. The big sleep dilemma.

SHIRFLEUR bless your heart thats a long time. Ive been working since i was 15 and i was definitely exhausted when i stopped last year. Had no intention of that being the period to the end of my career but i started feeling so much better and getting so much healthier. I am wondering about my motivation if i decided to go back to something. I love my life the way it is right now. My financial advisor said the way i feel about finances is not uncommon when one has been so focused on saving for retirement to stop that mindset and start withdrawals. I dont want to draw down what ive worked for decades to put away. What was i saving it for then? Conundrum.

YOH, I enjoyed getting dressed for work every day, too. Sometimes I think it would be nice if I had a job I could go to when I was in the mood. I'm not a morning person & like having my time to do with as I please 😊 Even though it's not quite the same, I like putting on cute workout clothes the days I go to the Gym.

I can’t wait until I retire! Lol But, on the other hand, keeping the mind stimulated and sharp matters and maybe working P/T might help with that? If I do work P/T, it certainly won’t be anything with teaching. I’m getting to the burned out stage after 24 years, it doesn’t help that each year gets more difficult.

Year of the Health that does make sense.🙂 I had a part time gig at the election office. I absolutely loved that, but it was a seasonal gig. I would love a work at home gig or half and half. I am still feeling things out. I am very greatful to have my pension and awesome Florida medical benefits that's good on the entire US mainland. You will figure it out. You may just want seasonal part time. I am basically retired but looking for something on the side. More updates to be continued.
