OTC and I made it back in the gym last night after a 7 day hiatus. Shes in the background doing her tricep pressdowns and Im knocking out some deadlift sets with my new deadlifting bear Hunt Lift Eat barbell club shirt on. The workout completly kicked my butt #GOALS

redporchlady Im so used to 3 minute rest periods and the new phase of my program has 1 minute rests and on my first day back wow I was completely spent!

I bet!! I don't understand the resting between sets. I know that depending if I am on lots of reps or heavier weights my rest periods range from 30 seconds to a minute. I just follow the training I am given. If we try to go before I time is up he will say something and I know my first day back he was giving me a little extra time because I literally was bent over. Uggh hate that feeling!

I too do not generally rest more than 30 seconds between sets. I do rest 1 minute after I finish a series.

Redporchlady when I do the shorter rest periods I see my reps go down with each set but if I do 3 minutes I can usually hit the same reps for every set before hitting failure.

Diana 1234 they both have a benefit for sure you burn more calories and keep uour heart rate up with shorter reta periods

Thanks OTB. You're absolutely right! I'm doing a good job with my diet for the first time in my life. I'm just a little inconsistent when it comes to working out but I'm definitely going this evening.

It's hard taking a week off. I just did it for my Philly trip. Muscles were sore again after coming back. Hopefully yours do better than mine.
