debrafrederick's Journal, 09 Nov 14

Time for a catch up journal, I have done two fasting days this week with no problems other than a bit of hunger hitting while cooking dinner for hubby. Sometimes wish I didn't like my own cooking so much, it would make things easier! Hubby has taken a new position at work now he works 7 12 hour days and is off for 7 days. Now we can get some projects off the ground that we have been putting off due to lack of time, energy, and money. For the last two days we have been raking and hauling pine straw to put around our fruit trees to secure them for the winter and building a new chicken run out of an old above ground swimming pool frame. In the past few years I would start off the day with energy, but usually pooped out on him around lunchtime; not this time! I was right there with him every step of the way and I even did the running back and forth to the tool shed when we needed another tool to finish the job. The work has been heavy and hard but my energy levels and stamina held strong. I am so pleased, and HE is not so tired and in pain from having to do more than his fair share of the workload. He smiled at me often and we had a good laugh when I slipped and fell into a pile of fresh horse poo! :) It has been a long time since we were able to laugh while in the middle of a home improvement project. I am grateful to be able to feel like getting outside and getting things done!

Deb its nice to hear you and he are able to do things together, especially with his back problems. I hope you gave him a good back rub im sure he probably needed it:) My husband helped me with some physical therapy mainly my legs with the arthrts in my hips and not being able to bend my lower torso. But he pushed me gently stretching those tight muscles. It felt so good. Shoot i will be ready to come and help build a barn! My husband works in a hospital with the mentally ill. And hets alot of exercise has lost probably 25 lbs...but he is finally ready to gwt on this diet with me. He is a diabetic so it can only help him more. So CONGRATS on that stamina. I am working on a fresh cauliflower recipe we will see what i come up with, hopefully edible! God bless each one of you guys in your endeavor for today, since tomorrow is not promised but a hope. we are lucky enough to spend any extra time with our loved ones then consider yourself blessed. Much love from Tx , Sheila

Hey Sheila! I do rub him down, but I have to be very careful, I have very strong hands and my massages can actually make him hurt more. I will usually give him a massage after he has had a hot soak and his muscles are more relaxed, when they are tight, I hurt him.
