KayBuckaroo's Journal, 20 Jun 21

Well phooey I’m going to be logging in my impulsive chomping lol Dang kids leaving full plates of chips n cheese out. I’m over my goal, and then I have a memory of the other stuff I ate- an extra 2 apples, a couple plums, some pretzels. And all of that I had not logged so now I’m looking at threatening my deficit as well. And that is how it goes for me. I pick up extra calories along the way each day. A mouthful here a handful there

…. And so I am logging my day carefully, and retraining my body and my mind for less overeating, less sugar, and to be successful at a deficit while aiming to not have a big craving to binge eat, to try not to suffer …

Hit my water goal. Now I’m going to have to get through the night without raiding the fridge. Hot tea instead of sandwiches or cereal. WHY do I feel so hungry 🤤 between the exercise and the nursing I just want a constant supply of crystal light and apples.

Anyway I’ve yammered on enough. I’m going to have to get a plan in place to avoid today’s mistakes.

Hungry a lot? Maybe eat more protein and healthy fats? Definitely grab the apples over the chips. I don't think there's a lot of harm in eating extra apples! It's hard when you can't control elements in your environment. Detour around the snacks and head toward something else you find absorbing and fun? I recently treated myself to succulents--a tiny houseplant every couple of days. I used to spend a few dollars daily on crackers and snacks. Maybe a book or movie or binge watch a favorite TV show?

Thank you for your wonderful advice! A believe we do need to reward ourselves and you’ve got me thinking, what would that even look like for me?! Us mom’s need to be rewarded also. Food for thought!
