Congrats, Payena! I'm only doing 16:8, so I ate something last night! Thanks, DJ!

What is the 16:8? Can a diabetic do a fast?

Agnesvitt 16:8 is where you fast 16 hours and have an 8 hour eating window. I believe a diabetic could easily do a 16:8. Part of that 16 is while you're sleeping.

Agnesvitt, I am diabetic and have followed a 16:8 schedule. I have best success if I skip breakfast. If I skip supper, my glucose often drops too low and I end up eating a snack before bedtime. If you start your fast at 10 pm and don't eat until 2pm the next day, you should be able to follow a 16:8 schedule.

My favorite “break fast” food too!

Thank you, Texasgranny. I am on so many steroids, it keeps my weight up. My diabetes doctor tells me not to worry about the weight, just stick to 1000 cals, 120 carbs a day. But I am miserable, uncomfortable etc. I am going to start this Sunday morning. Wish me Luck,

Good luck! The nutrition tracker really helps me sort out my meal portions.
