Does rapid weight loss cause severe muscle aches?? It has been very difficult to move my arms due to pain. Can’t lift my bike onto the rack, so I haven’t biked for a few days.
I’m not trying to starve myself. I simply lost interest in food. My daily intake has been around 800 calories but well balanced. I don’t feel sick; I actually feel pretty well. Just achy.

800 is low. 1200 is lowest you should go. There's a possibility your potassium is low. Low potassium causes muscle aches

RN16: but my RDI is 1400... if I eat 1200 cal I wouldn’t lose much weight, would I? I really want to reach my goal by September. BTW, how much calories do we burn during a shift (I am assuming that you are an RN too)? My K+ is okay, usually around 4.0.

Yes Steve, let’s order some pizza and watch baseball. I think Nats vs Brewers game is still on.

I think keeping an eye on your labs and getting a multivitamin and other supplwill help you. I do agree with RN 800 is to low. If you go to low in your RDI. Your body thinks it's starving so it goes into starvation mode. Robbing muscles and other tissue for its nutrients. Plus any food it gets is gonna automatically be stored as fat because it thinks it's being starved. So it's trying to conserve food for fuel. It will rob from you. Protien supplements and multivitamin and try increasing your RDI up to 1000 and see how that feels. Maybe adjust as needed. Do alternate days. One day do 1000, the next day, 1100 then one day go 800. Then shock your system. But keep up the supplements and exercise more when your calorie days are higher and less in those low cal days. You also need to hydrate like crazy and rest. Idk if I'm helping you or not

Yes Steve, this is very helpful and thank you. But I am not starving myself. My food repertoire is good. My lytes are good. I plan to go to Tokyo this year to take care of some business. A 121-lb woman is considered obese there. I need to reach my goal before the trip; it is important to me. If you still think I should eat more, please order a giant pizza as we agreed. If you don’t like baseball, we can watch Star Wars 🤣🤣😂

Yes, when I am going to have a loss my legs cramp like crazy. Bouillon , powerade zero, even pickles help stop that pain.

Highly recommend Redmond Relyte for electrolytes! Made a huge difference for me when I was fasting regularly. But in the interim maybe some sort of electrolyte drink that you can grab at a store that is low/no sugar and low carb. If your lack of appetite continues perhaps a check in with your mental health practitioner could be in order 💕
