Kenna, I'm talking about the bio feedback loop much like when the thyroid is low and the brain tells it to produce more TSH. So it does and the thyroid keeps making more hormone to accommodate so when tested the TSH is higher than normal. My husband has a rare disease called retroperitoneal fibrosis. He's had it for 15 years now. His pituitary is inflamed and he has central diabetes insipidous. This is unrelated to sugar diabetes. Doctors know very little about RPF. We have seen a cycle with his sodium and everytime he eats a big sodium meal he releases about 7lbs of fluid in one night. A month or so ago when I hit my plateau I had been doing the same things consistently. When I started eating 1900 cals one day and 1400 another I saw a drop and I've been doing that now and it seems to be working.

Bear, I don't intentionally stagger my calories but I do like having some higher cal and some lower cal days spontaneously. Some days I'm very active and want to eat a bit more, some days I'm not that active and don't have much of an appetite. It works out.
