Supplemental log. Close to the end of another COVID lockdown month and back up above 230 consistently again. No wonder -- I am not hitting my calorie targets. They have been in the 1600-1700 range with a lot of good thought and science behind the macro/calorie targets, but I'm not getting it done. The last time I was in the 2-teens was April, where I had eaten about 1600 on average in March and 1500 in April. I've been at or near 2000 for the summer and the fall, and for my height and size that's called MAINTENANCE. I've been on a protein kick, trying to hit 180 grams a day (one gram per pound of desired body weight). Going forward, I'm going to aim to maximize protein but will stop eating when I hit the calorie limit. I'm probably still going to get way more than 100 grams a day. I also am not gaining the body mass I was aiming for (although I am getting stronger, can see bigger muscles, and am not LOSING muscle mass). I guess that's a win. I might do a Fasting-Mimicking Diet for the last week of the month to reset before starting November.

You're not alone. I decided I'm going to have to cut back on calories if I'm not hitting exercise goals daily. I could lie to myself, but the scale won't let me. You have one of the best success stories out there, I know you can do it!

I know its tough with the covid situation...I am thinking you have probably lost work related walking and going out walking. I know in lockdown in March i had to be real strict on calories with little exercise, I am average 10 pounds less than last year. Once i get out of Florida, i will do alot better, heat down here has just got worse over the years.

We’ll fight together. I have to figure out how to get my steps in with the rain and the early darkness myself.

Hang in there Bill. Adjustments come with maintenance. Everybody is different and we all have to tweak our intake from time to time. I remember our talk about protein. I took what you told me your doctor told you to heart. I actually cut my protein goal to 100 grams daily. I frequently exceed that amount and still stay within my calorie goal because my protein goal is reasonable. I'm not trying to eat like a body builder. I'm trying to maintain my health and fitness. I try to eat up to my protein goal for the day. If I don't make it up to my daily calorie goal, it's not a big deal. I like to focus on nutrition. You are a pro and have made some amazing progress. I'm certainly not saying everyone should do it my way. Keep crunching the numbers and do it your way. I'm inspired by your efforts....
