I made it 7 days without binge eating. Yesterday I did eat some peanut butter and a thin shave of a lemon pound cake I made from scratch just to taste it. Today I wanted chips but instead ate pork rinds with chive and onion cream cheese on them. That really hit the spot.
I am feeling restless because I don't usually get past 7 days without binge eating. I feel like I don't trust myself - almost like you know your pattern and it's a self-fulfilling prophecy to do what you normally do. But I really think I can do it. There is no reason for me to binge eat. I don't want to.
I am on the edge of making it to my next goal - 310 which would be more wonderful than I can imagine because I haven't been there in a very long time.
I'd appreciate any words of wisdom and prayers. Thanks! Have a great day everyone!

Hold on, Shelley! I completely relate to your situation. I made spaghetti with meat sauce Thursday because grandbabies came to spend night and I know they love it. I do too and I hadn't eaten any pasta in over a month. I over ate with them then polished off leftovers the next day. I felt so bloated & miserable for 3 days...so Hi. I'm Aintgotaname and I'm a carb addict! But I did learn I have to permanently breakup with pasta because I never want to feel that lousy again.😭😭😭 We can and will do this. PENGUINS RULE!!!🐧

You are doing a great job, look at all the success you have had, and you made that decision not to binge, you can do it...... Whenever we have a bad day we we just pick ourselves back up, dust our self off, and continue forward. You are certainly an inspiration to me and I’m sure many others. Stay on your journey, you are loosing weight and more importantly getting healthy...🥰🥰🥰

Nows the day to get that long walk in, or maybe a little deep cleaning. Something that feels rewarding and sparks joy!

Maybe buy something non-food as a reward for making a week/month. Like walking shoes or bands.

I feel you! I was bad yesterday..,all I wanted was hamburger. I ordered it from grubhub but it didn’t go through. I should have taken that as universe telling me I don’t need it. So, instead I made pasta, ate spoon full of cookie dough and finished it off with popcorn. I just wanted something bad. Luckily today, I am sticking to the plan.

What you are working on is so hard and I know because I'm doing it too. If I want to binge, I ask myself what is driving that thought. Sometimes I don't have the answer but often the truth is I'm feeling stressed or feeling bored. Or, maybe I'm bored with being stressed. Let's do this.

Well done in resisting those temptations. However, it might be easier if you did not have any of those temptations in your home - the cake, PB, pork rinds. Instead, reach for something like a boiled egg, a tin of sardines - the protein is satisfying and we are less likely to binge on these things. I just realised that I should be doing this myself! Good luck!

Ask yourself if you're truly hungry or just bored... Find a good friend to call when you feel like binging or do hobbies with your hands to keep busy and distracted.

I have no words of wisdom as this is a huge problem for me also, just know that you are not alone in the struggle...

The best advice I got from my Doctor is to eat exactly the same thing every day for each meal. My plan: bkfst. Raisin Bran with extra bran added and 2%!milk. 2 coffee. Lunch: fresh sliced turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with fruits. Apple, pears, cherries and berries. Dinner: zone diet pasta fusilli with veggies and 4 oz chicken or fish. That’s it! No booze, no snacks, no nothing, and get rid of all food in the house that’s harmful. Eventually you will get there. Prayers for you. So sorry you are having such difficulty. It’s ends up to be mind over matter. It took me 7 months to lose 20 lbs. still trying.

I struggle with it too. When I recognize it in me I just paint my nails. That keeps me busy for a bit. Also cleaning or organizing closet or cabinets helps me keep the mind out of it.

That’s wonderful. You deserve to be healthy and happy. That is showing incredible strength, so don’t stop, just keep it going! You are working so hard and it’s paying off. Congratulations, you should be very proud!

WOW Thank you for all of the great responses and recommendations everyone! What a wonderful outpouring of support. Thank you so much!! I took a nap, I got out the peanut butter, I put it back because it has too much sugar (for me). I am not hungry at all. I worked for an hour. Now I am going to call my Dad. Thank you for getting me through this day and I will refer to this the next time (there always is a next time!!). Deep breath...we got this. 7 more days, right? xoxo Shelly

I quit buying the things that I used to snack on uncontrollably. Peanutbutter was a problem. Sometime I'll pick up Palmaritas cookies at grocery store and put them in the cart, then I look at the calorie label and put them back on shelf, then I think how much I love the texture of them and how I'll 'out exercise' the calories but remember how much work and effort it takes and how I'm putting my progress in jeopardy and then I put them back on the shelf. Its a constant battle. But nothing feels as good as putting the item back on the shelf and walking away.
