After keeping a food diary for a couple days I can clearly see that I am getting enough protein (1/2 my body weight in grams) & I'm drinking enough water (1/2 my body weight in ounces), but my daily consumption of more than 50% of my daily intake being fat?? May have something to do with not losing weight as fast as I'd hope. I need to go to the store and purchase better protein choices.

Hi Deb :) I just took a sneaky peak at your food diary. I think your onto something regarding your protein choices. Get some chicken breast, steak or fish instead. Any sausage is highly processed, to high in sodium & fat even when they say low fat.

Do not worry about the fat if it comes from natural sources, grass-fed sources...I would definitely up your lower carb vegetables...real food.

Hi Deb, keep on top of the food diary - It is a great tool to see how to tweek your food consumption for maximum benefit. This is my first time keeping a food diary and counting calories. It has been very beneficial to me losing the extra weight. Cheers! Sharon

I struggle with getting enough protein also. I have 3 hard boiled eggs a day (whites only) - It is a very low calorie food with a decent little boost in protein. No yokes for me, WAY too high in cholesterol.

Cut portions, walk, protein, no sugar, you will lose. It is great you are keeping a diary to get to your goal weight, it does help, I need to do it too soon.

Yep, i must agree with all the comments -- I have been able to lose about 45 pounds since April 2013 with a portion control low-carb high protein diet...And i walk about 1-2 miles everyday, definately keep a journal to track food and workouts..Also to put down your feelings. It works..I have journals from 2009 it's nice to look back at your progress!...
