WHAT SCALE DO YOU USE?
I am currently using a Weight Watchers scale, but I HATE it! I like the fact that it measures in 2/10, but it fluctuates up to 4 pounds every time I step on it! :( I usually end up stepping on it several times until I've hit the same number twice. Thanks for your suggestions & have a fabulous day!! :)

I'm at work now so can't say exactly what make the scale is - but it also varies by quite a lot in short period of time. My morning routine in the bathroom would have me weighing myself up to 5 times (arriving in bathroom, after toilet, after shower, after hair, after toothbrushing), then averaging that, and that's the one that went in the journal. Then I noticed it also depended on the day of the week - I always weighed more on weekends, but actually that turned out to be only because I got uo later on weekend - actually I vary by about 2kg over the day, lowest weight early in morning (just after exercise), highest in the evening (just before bed). The usual advice I get for all this is to just take the weight at the same time every day but (a) life's just not like that (b) as an engineer - that's rubbish! You don't get better measurement by taking less measurements. So now I use an app from "Hacker's Diet" (http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/#Comptools), and just keep entering all weighings into that. And it shows me the general trendline. It's much easier to understand than weights. Last week I was on track to hit my goal (again) by mid-September. Went over to visit my brother last weekend, concentrated on beer and pizza for a few days, now I'm due to get back to my goal again by about next February! "by September" versus "by February" is much easier for me to grasp - especially now that I am at/near my goal.

Same here! Mine ia about that old too! I also have the WW scale. Same problem. My bathroom is on a sub-floor. Finally moved it to my basement on concrete floor. Don't use it as much.

I use a digital scale manufactured by Health O Meter. You can see the scale at this web address ---> http://www.healthometer.com/HDM770DQ1-05.html#start=8 I have had mine for over 1 year and it appears to be accurate and doesn't fluctuate.

I have a digital scale. Keep in mind the best time to take your weight is in the morning, after using the bathroom and before clothes/eating breakfast. Your weight will fluctuate during the day by a few pounds. I always weigh a bit more during the day.

I use a really cheap $20 one. I think it was on sale at $17 when I got it though. It's called health o meter.

Also what time do you weigh yourself? Because in the morning you're lighter.

Weight watchers, but I have the same problem. I use the average, usually. Unless I need motivation, then I use the lower one ;)

Thank you all for the wonderful responses! I weigh myself every day in the AM before anything to eat or drink & right after the unmentionable. I bet it fluctuates because of the flooring. Not desperate enough to put it in the basement. I hate going down there. lol

I used a Taylor scale, The Biggest Loser model. I've only had it for about 4 months, but it seems to be pretty accurate when we go in for our "weigh-ins" at our doc's office. It's a digital scale measuring by tenths of a pound. It can be used just as a weight scale if you just step onto it. If you turn it "on" and wet your feet before you step on, it will give you Body Fat %, Body Water %, Muscle Mass %, Bone Mass %, and Kcal---the total calories you should have in a day to maintain your current weight. I always weigh first thing in the morning, after using the bathroom and slipping out of my p.j.'s. Then I weigh at night just before I put my p.j.'s on.

I have an old digital scale I got at walmart some time ago. I have to make sure its in one place in my bathroom, as it will fluctuate by up to 1.5 pounds. I only weigh myself 2 days a week, on monday and on friday. Every 2 weeks I record the "official" weight from my Doc. I see him every 2 weeks, and they are monitoring me on my weight loss. I weigh in the morning when I get up, after using the facilities, and before my morning coffee, then I get dressed.
