Was reflecting during my walk at work today...

It hit me that I really haven't eaten a dang thing in 11 days! What the heck??? LOL

The other part that hit me is that this experience hasn't been ANYTHING like I expected...

I expected to be weak, "hangry", constant stomach growling...I expected to be cranky & unable to workout or complete anything physically challenging.

Those were my true expectations.

But INSTEAD - I feel happier, my mind is SO SO clear, my mood is IMPROVED, I have more energy than EVER, I am STRONG, my physical hunger with stomach growling 'n' stuff went mostly away after day 3, and then the little bit that was left has been leaving more and more and I rarely feel physically hungry EVER!

I have been doing tons of projects around my house & will be doing an entire front yard makeover tomorrow which includes digging up my garden bed & laying tons of bricks & a walkway...and I'm doing it on day TWELVE of no food!

I have to say - all the most recent literature and studies I've read about fasting ring true about it being healthy and good for the body, and everything I've been told by old information and people telling me what "will happen" have been completely untrue!

Fasting feels GREAT and it feels like it's good for me - I feel stronger mentally and physically than I have in years!

I mainly just have to battle psychologically because I miss eating - and I am definitely looking forward to my first meal but I can't think about that too much or I might not be able to make it lol...

I have learned that I believe I can be successful with this with EASE if I just keep extremely busy with physical jobs & avoid being around food or watching food shows! lol

Really amazing to read your journal. It is hard to comprehend all you are choosing to give up and what your body is adjusting to. To be able to do all you are doing, you must feel great.

Great job, Sharon! God designed our bodies to be able to fast, and I'm sure all your organs are enjoying the reprieve from digestion. Also, more toxins are leaving your body. I was always amazed that, even when I was only consuming water for long periods of time, there was still color in my pee, showing that wastes were still being eliminated even though I wasn't taking any in. Probably TMI, but it was interesting to me, LOL. Keep up the great work, little sister! YOU'VE GOT THIS!!!
