Woke at 221.6, down 3.6 from yesterday. Entering the final 12 hours of a 72-hour fast. It's been very effective and I've dropped a lot of weight. Interestingly, although I have drunk tons of water and black coffee, my body fat percentage and mass have risen. This is no doubt a measure of how much glycogen I've lost while flushing out the cells. But I certainly have not gained body fat over the 2.5 days -- that's what my body is using instead of food. It sort of speaks to the limitations of Biometric Impedance Analysis for body fat measurement. Feeling good and ready for coffee! UPDATE: Four large black coffees and 48 ounces of water today caused much water movement. Got a very nice 220.2 weigh-in at 5 pm. I'm very pleased with the results of the extended fast. Ate some Greek yogurt with my supplements to ease into eating, and then enjoyed some keto meatloaf and Brussels sprouts.
