velvetee's Journal, 19 Jan 20

Loved my food this weekend. No clue about calories, but enough protein and no overeating. Salmon + caulirice, eggs/bacon + salad, salmon + the same salad, cottage cheese + persimmon + almonds.

We had a lot of fun with my kid. He asked me to get calamari and we cooked together, he prepared his little cucumber salad while eating a ton of cherry tomatoes. My carrots were less successful, and I am really sad but I never force him to finish anything, especially when he does not like it. He said earlier today "Ma, I love that I can choose what we eat for the most part, that I learn things with you and that you don't force me as others do".

Other nice activities aka learning: testing different teas, understanding their texture and taste, where they come. And well, he finished my mint green tea I took at Mcdo. Yes, we eat junk too. Everything in moderation. I promised him a visit to a museum and McDonalds. It's important to keep my word so he got both. It's a beautiful place, we got kicked out of there after wandering for at least 2 hours... what a pity it closes so early. Winter :( Oh and hairdresser, he needed it lol.

Melissa 🤗 he is not easy to deal with but I am doing better now that he is getting older. My motto: be a parent, not a friend, because kids actually need education. I think I am way more disciplined than my ex in this sense and he probably discovers more as well (already visited 5 countries at 7 which is not bad).

Binky you made me laugh he looks like an angel but very few teachers would want him in their class 😝 he is hard to deal with (special needs). But thanks 😊

He is definitely an angel! Different can be wonderful. Who wants everyone to be cookie cutter? If he is having fun doing these tasks (and he sure looks like it), then watching that unfold is wonderful. XOXO I'll take him!!!!!

Beautiful, thanks! I've added it to my Google maps places I want to go. I may actually go someday. I think I've only been to the airport in Marseille, many years ago when I was an exchange student for ten days in Salon-de-Provence. I hope to go back someday.

😱 kpw Salon is a small town, no college or interesting companies or research labs, how come you landed there? That said it’s old (like a lot of places in Europe) and full of history. Have you been to the Nostradamus museum? I took my kid there 2 years ago, he loved.

Binky you made me smile 😃 you know, I’ve seen a video not long ago, it was some kind of Christmas preparation, he was in front of the teacher and apparently he is allowed to sit under his desk and move around like crazy 😧 because he needs to move every 5 min (he can’t focus properly). You got the thing, I’ve got another “Chris over the place” at home and it’s hard to deal with it for calm persons like myself 😢 😆

I was 16--that's where the high school trip took us! We students lived "en famille," and the program took us on day trips to Aix, Nice, and Monaco. My host family took me to Les Baux, Arles, etc. Then we Americans went to Paris for a few days on the way home. I went back to Paris several years ago. Last summer, I went to Hendaye, up on the Basque coast, before heading from Bilbao to Madrid. I'd love to make it back to the South of France and to wander through Salon again, though I've long since lost touch with my host family. I have not been to the Nostradamus museum--another thing to add to my map!

Kpw wow! I bet you were impressed. On average, people love Paris (personally, I find it annoying).
