Snowwhite100's Journal, 28 Dec 18

Saw videos showing 1 TBSP butter or coconut oil did not raise blood sugar when fasting, but wanted to know a little more about Autophagy where we clean out old cells, since I have been putting 1 TBSP butter in my coffee in the morning while fasting. I so want the healing aspects of Autophagy, but mostly it happens when fasting longer than my limited hours of 15 to 19 hours a day. I do believe I am receiving benefits of my Intermittent Fasting each day: helping me toward Ketosis so I can eventually burn fat instead of glucose. Actually, several of my physical problems are getting better, but I can't know if it is just cutting out sugars and carbs, or as some others say you get some benefits of Autophagy after 12 hours fasting or if I am only fooling myself. Anyway, I'm glad that a TBSP of butter doesn't trigger going out of Ketosis, and the main reason I started using the butter was because I was having trouble eating enough fat. However I am planning to stop it for two reasons: because what I read today said that it is counter productive to losing stubborn belly fat, and you will experience less hunger with pure, true fasting with no calories. The high fat during eating hours does not nauseate me as much now. I assume I'll get used to it more and more. Fasted 16 hours.
