Day 3 of a planned 5 day ‘no solid food’ fast
Blood sugar 99 mg/dL

📅 The scale hasn’t moved, but, I know for sure this is water 😊 I have been drinking a lot of 🌊 water, but little has ‘come out the other side’ 😊 This morning I plan to go on a 🏃🏾 5 mile run. A 5 mile run should ‘get things moving’.

🏋🏾 I almost had to reduce the weight I lift yesterday. I barely made it through my workout ☹ This sucks because I was lifting 200lbs last week and this week I am down to 180lbs and may have to go back down to 160lbs.

Essentially, my 💪🏾 muscles must have sufficient glycogen in their cells to ‘lift heavy’. In plain language, I need carbs to ‘lift heavy’. Lifting ‘heavy’ is my goal, because I want bigger muscles. I feel it looks a lot nicer when my weight is in the 160 pound range. Otherwise I feel I look ‘frail’ and ‘gaunt’.

🧘🏾‍♂️ So, back to the weight lifting problem. I know how to fix it, I just need to eat a bag of tortilla chips tonight and I will have plenty of glycogen filling my muscles for my workout on Thursday. However, if I do that, there will be little to any weight loss for the week and perhaps even a weight gain. To a normal body builder this would not be a big deal, but, when you have been obese all your adult life, you can’t risk becoming obese again.

So I decided I will just reduce my weights for my Thursday workout if needed. If I can get down to 165lbs by this weekend I will finally allow myself to ‘bulk’ 5-10 pounds. I should then be able to get back to my 200lbs lifts. That’s the plan at least…

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

Your body will be happy to use protein in your body to replace glycogen and make glucose to feed your brain.
