Day 5 of a planned 11 day 'no solid food fast'

Blood sugar 83 mg/dL

🥛 I posted a picture of the 'Protein Coffee' I drink every morning. I add coffee to the mixture and it holds me until the afternoon where I have another protein drink without the coffee.

This thing has 340 calories but only 2 net carbs. You gotta be a believer in low carb to do this because over the day I will have 4 scoops of this stuff, in heavy cream, bringing my calories up to nearly 1000 a day (my maintenance is only 1200).

😎 However, since I started this 'protocol' this is the second week I have dropped an average of 2 pounds a day.

🏃🏾 Today I plan a 7 mile run. Yesterday I ran 3 miles in the morning and then 5 miles in the evening. Together with my 1 hour walk I do at lunch everyday, I got plenty of exercise and I think I probably have dropped ALL my water weight at this point.

🌟 I cannot say this enough, I take 'Hi-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate' throughout the day, at least 20 drops three times a day (I also take 8 different vitamin pills). Without the electrolyte concentrate, and plenty of water, I feel I would pass out from such rapid weight loss.

@keilin-4 - For the carb counters, heavy Cream is the greatest thing since the Avocado Haha That carton will not last the week!

Well, for me the most important are the calories, yesterday I drank around 1000 calories at lunch 😳😁😛 between coffee with heavy cream and a homemade strawberry shake, the funny thing is that after that I was not hungry at all and I was full of energy to exercise and clean up my garden, I had to eat dinner because I don't like to be hungry at midnight

@chrisw77 - When I hit 160lbs I plan to hit the carbs hard. Carbs allow me to lift more, just the way it is for me. I want to stack 10lbs extra a week for two weeks to get up to 160lbs. I can dream...

@chrisw77 - 160lbs to start working up to #160 on the bar. I tried increasing the weight without carbs, doesn't work for me :( I'm gonna see what happens, may change it up later.

@John10251 - I have fasted with mostly water in the past. It works, but it is more of an 'effort'. It would be very hard to go 11 days like that.

Adef, I am going to purchase quest protein- which flavor do you believe taste the best? On the 15th I will be celebrating my “boys” birthday (husband and son). I would like to drink the quest protein shakes and maybe some smoothies until Saturday beginning on Monday.

@tiffany1908 - I have only tried the Vanilla, sorry. Also, if you are not a 'carb counter' you could use any high quality protein powder. Quest is just special because it is low carb and taste great. I can find no other powder that can do that :)

@srossca - Last week I lost 9lbs in 5 days with this diet. However, I gained 5 back over the three day weekend. This week I lost 7lbs in 5 days. This weekend I plan to stay on the diet so I don't gain the weight back.

@nikeit - Thanks! This 'fast' has been Reeeealy easy. I am enjoying this a LOT more than I like 'bulking'.

Thanks for the input. I don’t really care for a lot of cream in my coffee, and no sugar. I’ve been trying to add chocolate protein powder for more of a “mocha” effect. But it just clumps up. When I tried blending it with hot coffee it turned to a pudding like mess. I don’t think I could handle all that cream. I appreciate your input

@Tkclemmons - I have a REALLY large coffee cup, so perhaps that is why I can get away with a full scoop and coffee. Perhaps less protein powder? Also, my battery operated hand blender is the only thing that can completely blend it.
