Hi all anyone doing low carb? If so, what’s your favourite quick recipes and what types of meals do you eat? How low do you keep your carbs?

I’m sick of the amount of weight I’ve put on over the last few months so I’m giving low carb another go because I previously lost about half a stone (like 2 years ago)!

Going to try really hard!

I’m doing the 8 week blood sugar diet. I’m on my second week but lost 6lbs in my first week. It cuts out sugar and is very low carbs. I’m really enjoying it. Basically cut everything sugar out and avoid bread, pasta, rice, pulses and potatoes. Also you don’t have to go low fat! Definitely worth a read.

I eat over 100g of fat everyday all the foods they say you should avoid and I’ve dropped 7kg and I’ve kept all my muscle mass my carbs are kept at baseline as low as possible everyday apart from 1 cheat day, the quick meal I do a lot is boiled eggs and avocado

One of my favourite quick recipes is egg drop soup. Chicken stock heated, mix eggs in a bowl, drop them in and mix to create egg strands. Hard boiled eggs in a mug, crushed with a fork, with butter, black pepper and paprika. Homemade curry, just substitute the flour for almond flour. Fajitas without the wraps, just put all the veg and meat in a bowl. (Can also add cheese if you like.)

Last time I tried it I suppose it was moderate carb really so about 50-60g a day and I still lost weight! Not as fast but it meant I could still eat some carbs lol. The hardest thing I find is having things to hand for lunch - my work is between Greggs and a chippy so temptation is literally on the doorstep 🙈🙈🙈 Anybody meal prep successfully on low carb?

For lunches, I normally stick to salads/soups or omelettes.

Fried veg mixed with egg to make a sort of vegetable omelette. I'm enjoying the selection of sausages at the supermarket. Polish shops sell nice salami type dried meat that tastes sweet. Or the sokolow range in asda. Lots and lots and lots of chicken, getting sick of it. Can get bbq and tikka but has extra carbs so be careful. The worst is coming home and the family want take out chips or Chinese. Not given in yet though :)

Oh I buy the pre sliced chicken from Iceland... great for munching on or salads when hungry I’ve cut out all sugar so basically I’m on the old Atkins. Good luck 💕
