Oh, wow. So, I stepped on the scale this morning, knowing full well the damage I did to my diet over the Easter weekend and early this week, and was *still* trying to rationalize that something is wrong with my body, and that there's no way I should have gained that much weight.

Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! I know damn well I had 4 cans of soda between Sunday and Monday. I also know I ate two pieces of dessert on Sunday, and also on Monday and one on Tuesday cause nobody else ate the damn stuff or took any home with them.

This is on me. This is totally on me, and the only way I'm going to get back on track is if I stop lying to myself and trying to pity myself saying I got stuck with bad genes.

I threw away the rest of the desserts this morning and sent the rest of the soda to work with J. You will not defeat me! (Warrior Cry!)

I know i am in the same boat aswell and know what i did this weekend plus it was my husband birthday Tuesday and i know darn well i had 2 slices of cake and had 2 diet sodas, but its getting back on track brushing it off and continue not giving up

Reminded of a song I sing my kids. "You gotta pick yourself up, dust yourself off - start all over again." There is not one of us on here that hasn't had bad days, even weeks. Just keep trying to make better choices. 😁

Proud of you. It is so much easier to make excuses than to own up to what you have done. The hardest part of all is forgiving yourself for making the mistake and trudging forward. I commend you for a job well done.

I agree, you're owning up to it, you know you're trying to rationalize and find ways around blaming yourself. You know your weaknesses and you are owning them. That's half the battle. I've been there, in fact, just yesterday I was there. You've taken the necessary steps, got the desserts and sodas out of the house. Now, move past this, make better choices today, and tomorrow focus on tomorrow. One day at a time. Yesterday is the past, can't be changed, tomorrow is in the future, and doesn't need to be dealt with now. Today is the present, make it the best one yet!

Set backs are part of life. The awesome thing is you recognise where you got hung up, owned it, move forward. In the past I made a bad day into a weekend into a week. My disappointment would lead to self sabotage. Now I might have a moment, but I allow myself to immediately correct. So showing myself grace has helped tremendously. Good for you for catching it now and moving forward! You have got this!

@Little Red Fox...so true. I think oh Marsha you cant throw that away. and then I think oh yes you can. it's my choice to either lose some money out of my pocket, or I can see it on my hips.
