So, goodbye and good riddance to 2017 !
Hello 2018👍👍👍👍🎉🎉

Looked back over the last year.. 2017 brought me a court case, 3 spinal surgeries , a cancer scare, heart problems, bullying at work due to my disability , more falling episodes( and injuries and X-rays)., bereavements and illness in my family, but I survived 👍👍

The year also brought me lots of interesting visits to different university towns, stunning scenery in Scotland, the Lake District and the Peak District , a birthday spa day with my bestie , lots of non-newsagent lie-ins , a much more organised and peaceful home, snuggles with our lovely Maine Coon, more time with my family, pride In my daughters’ achievements and love, help and support from my wonderful family , friends , colleagues and my FS buddies . 😁😁

So, last nite I saw in 2018 at home. Stayed off my strong painkillers so I could drink. After anaesthetising myself with gin, beer and port I danced in my front room TIL 3am. ( I don’t go out to dance as due to EDS I manage to fall when walking sober, let alone dancing drunk😉. I held onto my sofa and danced to billy ocean, ub40, Michael Jackson , cool and the gang and earth wind and fire TIL 3am. Sang my heart out .. and loved it ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Today my joints are complaining, I’m back on meds and have had 2 hrs in a hot bath, followed by bacon and eggs , no carbs .. but sometimes it’s soooooooo worth it , to forget I’m disabled and live a little 😁😁

I’ve reset my target.. want to be 160 by 23 feb, my daughters 18th birthday. I’ll be at home for the next few weeks on sick leave, so I can really concentrate on myself

Can’t wait
Bring it on 2018 😁😁😁😁

Have a great day, my fs buddies

Haha.. thanks SMP.. at least when I fell over it was only onto the sofa and only infront of my OH, who’s seen it all before 😉 I once took the kids to a GP appt with me. At the end of the consultation, the dr said “ is there anything else” and my daughter piped up “ please can you stop mum falling over so much, when we’re out, people think she is drunk”..🤣😊 As you will understand, chronic illness means looking for new solutions to old problems 🤗

Excellent attitude Poppy, but you always have. I've just finished the last of the chocolate (bought before crimble but I've been too ill to eat it - who knew!) so I shall be joining you in my newly rediscovered optimism.

What did the doctor tell your daughter? 😏I bet he was flabbergasted! LOL and I bet you all laughed! Not much else you can do when you are chronically ill. Most doctors don’t get it unless they are too. My son still doesn’t, much. My daughter is starting to... she’s getting the same symptoms. Runs in the family.☹️ But the only doctor who really has a handle on it is my neurologist. And she just prays not to turn into me. Seriously! 😳 So hopefully you could all laugh?
