Dear oh dear oh dear oh dear...

What an absolutely disastrous birthday week... lol...

STILL... on the bright side, I kept weighing and counting and I know exactly how many calories I have to make up for over the next week or two to get back on track. Also, I've bought the ingredients for some almost 'free' meals (I use the old Slimming Magazine Club trick of counting 50 a day for 'free' veg and stuff and then not counting anything off the free list), for instance, I'll be having mushroom bhaji tonight and saag squash (instead of aloo - spuds not 'free'... lol) - only having to count a small amount of oil and I'll be able to freeze the rest for Ron (Later Ron...).

It would have been a lot less disastrous a week if I hadn't had this appalling chest infection: I would usually have done my walks round the Thames on most days (abt 6 and a half miles from home and back via Barnes and Hammersmith Bridges) which would have taken care of quite a few calories more than sitting on my rear, but I can't walk round the corner without coughing like I'm on me last legs... lol... and worse in the cold.

But the main thing is... I'm still in exactly the right mindset (and I was losing that towards the end of this week... particularly as my boyfriend was saying, 'Don't worry about dieting now... leave it till it's warmer'), but I didn't lose it - I'm still absolutely determined to get back on track without starting again. The birthday's over and if I get back on this, I'll be at target weight for my next birthday... :)

Also, I could have stayed off fatsecret until I'd got sorted, but I refuse... I promised to weigh-in every Monday and I bloody will... even when I've put on half a stone in a week... lol...

Good luck this week, all! :) xx

Still weighing in is the way forward. We all hold ourselves accountable. If you enjoyed it and had fun and are now back on track then good for you! X

I agree with you not writing it off but I still think that confining the experience to history is a good idea. You cannot forget an experience good or bad it is like words said in anger, they can be put to the back of the mind but not withdrawn or forgotten once said. I love a positive attitude to life it is the best medication for all situations so fight the good fight but remember winning a war often consists of losing a few battles – hope your day improves.

I like both ideas... if I had written it off and started again today, I'd be a mere 50 calories over now... but I'm aware of that, so it's all all right. In effect, without managing to exercise much yet, I've virtually stuck to my diet today... :) xx
