You look quite trim in your profile picture, so I wouldn't worry too much. Just get back on track to your ultimate goal.

Thanks Jocko : ) Fortunately (or unfortunately lol) I hold the extra weight "well". Even my ever so observant and critical 24 yr old daughter claims I look fine (she didn't even realize I ballooned to 201 last year). So odd how we all have different perceptions and expectations of our bodies. Sitting here working I feel my stomach and hips overlapping my pants and feel obese. Granted I am 5'7 and 176.4, I AM definitely overweight and oddly I appreciate the challenge to improve myself and show I have discipline and control over what I put in my mouth. GAME ON!

Don't you hate "But you carry it so well..." I don't want to carry it anymore "well" or not!! Your doing a great job...game on!

It's funny how much standards have changed too. Back in the late 1980s, I went from 140 to 132. (At 5' 6".) I was pleased with that change, and my mother agreed, saying, "You were really quite heavy." I never forgot that. Now, I'm at 156, probably about 158 last time I saw my mom, and she says I look great now. I'm not even back down to "quite heavy," but with 2016 eyes, she thinks I look perfectly acceptable.

Kpwcalories - standards have indeed changed - and I think our bodies have too! I still have a blazer that I wore like maybe 30 years ago. I know that I'm at about the same weight now as I was then but the darn thing doesn't fit. One of the items on my TBD list is to try on my wedding dress again.

Right Becca, time to let someone else carry it...I'm tired! So true kpw, since my mom (and I) aged my weight is no longer her priority. Just being glad we are alive and well is : )
