I got my hair cut on Saturday........didn't make any difference to weigh in! Yes, fitness is still good, Chesty.

Very nice of you to say, Chesty. I am merely holding back the tide nowadays!

Relax Anne its probably partially water and excess carbs / salt . 1 week of maximal effort and youll be back to normal i gain an average of 4 or 5lb on a refeed day , the week after being strict im not only back to weight but slightly below ;) . And you're already in great shape so really dont worry at all :)

I know, Ade.............but I get so frustrated with myself!

Happens to us all Anne - that's why I plan it once a week at least I know why and when the damage will occur 😂 I will admit it varies greatly depending on food type and calories - a 5500 kcal day means the scales moan when I get on them 😂

Wee_ems............I drive myself mad with it. I try every trick in the book but the weight creeps up! Then it's emergency measures again!

maybe I should try that, Ade T. Perhaps not 5500 cals though.
25 Mar 24 by member: Anne_145
lol no dont do the 5500 kcals, What i normally do is double my current calories so its normally around 3000 :) . It just feels like a break and gives you that chance to go out and enjoy yourself if you are so inclined - having coeliac disease and not really going out much i just chill with a bottle of prosecco and some cake / chocolate :)

Dear Anne, Please do not worry about it. I am fully agree with Ade T that your weight gain can be due to water and excess carbs/salt. I do try to eat around 1,300 calories per day, but 3 days per week, I am eating with my husband different meals for 1,550 kcal( having more carbs, sometimes allowing some deserts). As Ade T said, it is allowing us to have a break and give a chance to enjoy going out ( in my instance 😊- with my husband ) .

yep, it's just not possible, otherwise we have to eat less of our main meals, learnt that yesterday!

Thanks, Yelena. I try to halt these upward trends as quickly as possible. I am a bit of a grazer so maybe need to cut out the snacks except for maybe one day a week. 🤔

Healthyme1973. I don't think we ever stop learning in this journey of weight management and fitness. The body changes and we must be aware and react. There is always something lurking, ready to catch you out 🙂

AdeT, normally cava for me 😋 but I'm still doing dry January. Almost 90 days.

Drinking doesn't really bother me to be honest Id be more inclined to choose cake 😆. I started drinking again when I met my ex partner after I'd literally not touched alcohol for over 15 years . Plus a nice bottle of prosecco buys a meal and cake 😂. When will you have your next drink then ? Oohhh a drink does go down nicely with a quality album on though 😉

I only listen to music in the gym so probably not the best time for a drink 😀😀😀 I had only planned to do dry Jan but haven't fancied a drink since. So no plans, 15 years would be epic though 👍

Yep 15 years sure saved me a few £'s . Ive got music on pretty much 24/7. Its a wonder ive any braincells left after all the headbanging in the 80s and 90s lol. Youll prob end up going out with friends at some point and having a tipple thats usually the way :)
