Good luck ! I am a yo-yo dieter and restarted my journey at the end of January. The most difficult bit I find is "getting my head in gear". You will succeed 👍

I have rejoined FS as I find that the only way I can lose weight is by calorie counting. I’m so disappointed with myself as I’ve put on a lot of weight and now I’m having problems with my knees which means knee surgery. I really need to lose weight before I have the surgery. My consultant is lovely and has told me that could be having the operation in the next few months. So I have to get into a better frame of mind to do this. I’m just so embarrassed

Hello Bernie…welcome back. I also find calorie counting the only way to check what I am eating and the app helps you to make the right choices. It’s a long term eating pattern. You can’t expect a quick fix,because the weight has crept on slowly. So slowly it must come off. You don’t have to buy special foods, you just control the quantities. Get you kitchen scales out and log on!!! Slowly does it!!

Thank you all for being so understanding and supportive. I find the first day so hard as I’m feeling hungry especially after my evening meal. This morning I popped on the scales and I know it’s mostly water but I’ve lost .9 kg!! So excited and now I’ll stick to only weighing myself Friday mornings.
